Henar con H: 1st DIY: Father´s Day

Para el post de hoy un DIY muy sencillito aprovechando que el día del padre está a la vuelta de la esquina. Una pulsera de cuero hecha a mano, explicada paso a paso. El resultado, aquí lo tenéis:

For Today´s post a very simple "DIY" because Father´s Day is coming and what could be better than a handmade leather bracelet. I will explain it step by step. Find below the outcome:

Se necesitan:

Cinta de cuero de dos grosores, dos impredibles, un cierre, una tijera, aguja e hilo (y dedal por si acaso)

It is needed:

Leather belt of two different thicknesses, two safety pins, a bracelet fastener, a pair of scissors, needle and thread (and a thimble just in case)

1-. Lo primero es tomar la medida de la muñeca a la que le vamos a hacer la pulsera. En uno de los extremos colocamos el cierre y damos dos vueltas a la cinta. Para ello utilizaremos la cinta de cuero de mayor grosor. Aseguramos con los imperdibles y cosemos los dos extremos de manera que dejemos bien cosido y asegurado el cierre y en el extremo contrario dos agujeros donde abrocharlo.

1-. The first thing to do is to take the measure of the wrist we will make the bracelet for. At one of the sides we will place the fastener and we will leave double belt on the inside. We will use the thicker leather strap. We will put a safety pin in each side and sew both sides to ensure the fastener in one of them and leave two holes on the opposite side where we will close the brazalet at.

2-. Con la cinta de cuero más estrecha empezamos a hacer la pulsera. Lo primero cortar una tira muy larga de la cinta, situarla en uno de los extremos y dejar la misma largura a la derecha y a la izquierda. Comenzar a hacer los nudos de la pulsera.

2-. With the narrower leather belt we will start making the bracelet. Cut a long strip of belt, place it at one of the sides and leave the same length at right and left. Now you only have to start making the knots of the bracelet.

Para hacer los nudos iremos alternando y haciendo un nudo a cada lado. En el ejemplo os hago un nudo a la derecha (el siguiente será igual, pero en el lado opuesto). Cogemos la cinta de cuero de nuestra derecha y lo pasamos por detrás de nuestra pulsera tal y como se ve en la imagen.

We will alternate the knots by making one by one at each side. On the example I make a right knot (the next knot will be exactly the same but on the opposite side). We will take our right side belt and pass it behind our bracelet like shown on the image below.

Cogemos la cinta de nuestra izquierda y lo pasamos por delante de nuestra pulsera haciéndolo coincidir con el agujero que nos queda. Es muy importante que estiremos fuerte y dejemos la pulsera lo más apretada posible.

We take the belt from our left side and pass it over our bracelet matching the hole that remains. It is really important that we stretch hard to leave the bracelet as tight as possible.

Antes de enseñaros el resultado final, quiero mostraros la figura tan bonita que hizo la cinta de cuero espontáneamente mientras realizaba la pulsera. Es uno de mis símbolos favoritos, la clave de sol y los corazones... ¡Viva la música! ¡Viva el amor!

Before showing you the last result, I would like to show you the wonderful shape that the appears spontaneously on the belt while I was making the bracelet. It is one of my favourite symbols, the treble clef and hearts....¡Enjoy Music! ¡Enjoy Love!
